The story of The Georgian Hotel, owned by BLVD Hospitality, is one steeped in history. Recognizing its renowned reputation, The Georgian Hotel entrusted Tyko Sign Group to create signage for its remodel, across various products, with the goal of restoring this luxury boutique hotel to its rightful position as the crown jewel of Santa Monica, CA.

Solution
Our goal was to create a spectacular revival of the oceanfront hotel branding. After several rounds of revisions, engineering, and fabricating a sample 30” letter, the team aligned on the Georgian Hotel’s custom made sign, a double-stroke, classic red, neon sign mounted inside of a fabricated letter with a gold electroplated finish. After a 1.5 year permit battle with the City of Santa Monica and the Coastal Commission during the Pandemic, the sign was finally approved for production! Next, all eyes were set on making the interior renderings come to life. Wayfinding signs were placed that incorporated illuminated blade signs made of brass and reeded glass, pairing perfectly with The Georgian’s warm aesthetic. Our ADA specialists got to work on preparing take-off sheets, installation maps, and required sign counts to ensure the property was compliant with the building and safety code. The signs mirrored the brass accents seen throughout the hotel, which included fixtures, the door handles, and ornaments. Over all the Tyko team spent 100 hours on site installing, coordinating, and working around the clock to outfit the 84-room hotel.
